Be the presiding officer of the Sangguniang bayan and sign warrants drawn on the Municipal Treasury for all expenditures appropriated for the operation of the Sangguniang Bayan.

Subject Civil Service Law, rules and regulations, appoint officials and employees of the Sangguniang Bayan except those whose manner of appointment is specifically provided in the code;

Assumes the office of the Municipal Mayor for the unexpired term for the latter in the event of permanent vacancy provided for in Section 44 of the Local Government Code;

Exercise powers and performs the duties and functions of the Municipal Mayor in case of temporary vacancy as provided for in Section 46 of the Local Government code;

Exercise such other powers and performs such other duties and function as may be prescribe by law or ordinances
